Title: Accounting Manager/Part Time Controller (Nonprofit Sector)

About the Philadelphia Visitor Center Corporation:
At the PVCC, we are the front door to Philadelphia, welcoming millions of visitors and supporting the local economy through our initiatives like the Phlash Program. We are a mission-driven organization seeking a detail-oriented financial professional to ensure our fiscal health and operational success. This is a unique opportunity to play a critical role in our financial sustainability during an exciting period of organizational growth.
The Role:
We are seeking an experienced Accounting Manager to serve as a key partner to the CFO. You will lead the day-to-day financial operations that power our programs, ensuring precision, compliance, and strategic transparency. This is an ideal role for an accountant who enjoys "owning" the process, improving systems, and seeing the direct impact of their work on our community programs.
Schedule & Commitment: Average Hours: 20–25 hours per week. We recognize that financial cycles vary; your schedule will naturally fluctuate to align with month-end closing processes, payroll cycles, and reporting deadlines. We value your ability to manage this rhythm independently.
Core Responsibilities:
Fiscal Operations: Oversee the full-cycle AP process, payroll execution (ADP), and bank reconciliations, maintaining the high standards of accuracy our stakeholders expect.
Grant & Program Reporting: Collaborate with our marketing and program teams to manage grant reporting and budget-to-actual analysis for key initiatives, including the PHL Phlash program.
Systems Management: Leverage your expertise in QuickBooks, Bill.com, and ADP to maintain robust internal controls and streamline our financial workflows.
Financial Insight: Support the CFO by preparing periodic budget-to-actual reports, managing donor subledgers, and analyzing receivables to inform leadership decision-making.
Why This Role Matters:
Your work directly supports the financial integrity required to run the programs that define the visitor experience in Philadelphia. You won't just be entering data; you will be building the financial foundation that allows our organization to thrive.
What We’re Looking For:
Experience: 5+ years of hands-on accounting experience. (Nonprofit or fund accounting experience is a signiicant plus).
Technical Proficiency: Advanced skills in QuickBooks, Bill.com, and ADP are essential for success in this role.
Professional Maturity: Proven ability to manage independent workflows, protect sensitive financial/donor data, and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
Analytical Mindset: A proactive approach to problem-solving and a passion for maintaining clean, audit-ready financial records.
What We Offer:
Flexibility: A hybrid work environment designed to respect your professional autonomy and work-life balance.
Mission-Driven Culture: The chance to contribute to a pillar of Philadelphia’s tourism and cultural sector.
Professional Growth: An opportunity to influence organizational processes and grow your skills within a dynamic, leadership-supported department.
